This food gave me a memorable experienced when I visited Vietnam. The dishes are not only memorable for me but also worth-eating so don't forget to try them when you visit Vietnam. (Click on the pictures to enlarge)
Pork Barbecue in Ho Chi Minh- my hubby said it's the most delicious food that he has tasted in Vietnam. We were in that restaurant almost everyday during our stayed in Ho Chi Minh.
mangosteen- The fruits that hubby listed in his mind before we flew to Vietnam. He has eaten them in Thailand and he said he would eat much when he visited Vietnam and yes, he did! A kilo of mangosteen everyday, would be believe that? The reason why we always needed to go to Ben Thanh Market when we were in Ho Chi Minh.
Porridge- We were in Dalat going back to the hotel when we saw a street vendor roasting something. We thought it was barbecue so we went there but it was cooked glutinous rice in an oval shape. My hubby said it's strange to roast glutinous rice but it looked delicious so he wanted to try one but the boy said we had to eat it with the porridge. After having a bowl of it, he asked their schedule. What time they will be opened and closed. Ngeeekkk... We went there many times, too.
spaghetti and steak- there are many restaurants near the Dalat Market where people enjoys drinking. Restaurants where many foreigners have meals and drinks. You can also view the Xuan Huong Lake so they are perfect places for a date. When you enter the restaurant they always asked if you want candles or lights. That's us for our candle light dinner. oh-la-la...
dried noodles- From the Chinese restaurant. Vietnam is famous of its noodle soup so this dried noodle sounds different so we tried it. After eating this order of noodle, they charged us 5,000 dong (Vietnam money) more. Why? Because they said, they put 2 more shrimps. Oh well....hehehe...Anyway, it was delicious. Actually we went back 2 more times but we had to say not to put more shrimps. hehehehe...
vegetables and meat wrapped with rice paper. They are called "Goi Cuon" in Vietnam. They are eaten with sauce. My hubby preferred the ones that we ordered in our hotel restaurant. The sauce was also different. In the restaurant of our hotel, the sauce was vinegar.
coffee- When you order coffee, they will serve you with the filter. The milk is at the bottom and it comes with some ice. It's up to you if you want your coffee a hot or cold. That's what I usually had for breakfast at the restaurant by the Nha Trang Beach.
soy bean milk- you'll see some street vendors at the Dalat market selling this hot drinks at night. That's where I tried it first because I saw people enjoying the drink. When I was sick, my hubby ordered this drink for me in the restaurant and I felt better. It made me sweat a lot.
Saigon or Bia- We both don't drink but when we were not sleepy and there was nothing to see on tv, we went down to the restaurant of the hotel. Hubby ordered food and a bottle of beer for me. We also did it when we were in Nha Trang but instead of the hotel, we went to the restaurant by the beach which is just a few steps from the hotel. It's more romantic specially at night because you'll see some candle lights on each tables with customers. Not to mention the sound of the waves and the cool breeze of the wind.
There are more delicious food that i can recommend you to try but I deleted some of the pictures. "Lau" or beef soup with vegetables cooked in front of you, and the garlic vegetable and fried rice at the Blue Mountain Restaurant "Than Thuy", a restaurant by the Xuan Huong Lake.
