Floating Market
Sunday, March 30, 2008
I saw floating market on tv many times so i told hubby that i wanted to go there that's why it included in our plan before we left. On our third day to Thailand, we went to Damneon Saduak, it is where the floating market located. It takes two hours to get there from Bangkok bus terminal. We left early because the market is only done in the morning and if you're a little bit late, you will miss some of the products.
After getting off the bus, a girl came to us and offered the boat for 1,200 bahts. We were surprised because we knew that it was only 150 bahts each. Hubby told her but she said it was impossible to only pay 150 bahts. She said that was really 1,200 bahts and it's more expensive to others. Then she said she would give us discount so 800 bahts will be okay, then 600 bahts then hubby invited me to go and find another one so the girl called us and said 400 bahts will be enough. That was still expensive but we took it. Hubby said maybe we could help them in that way. That was his opinion and mine was different. If most foreigners think that way then they will try to deceive others. We have experienced that many times. Because we are foreigners they always increase price. They don't know that everything is listed in the book or we asked first to the guest house's host about the real price.
Anyway, although we had that experienced but it didn't bother us. We had fun seeing the sites and looked around using a boat to see and buy some Thai foods. The market was crowded of vendors and purchasers floating in small rowing boats.

We bought noodles, coconut and these food that i like the most.

Also riped mangoes for hubby, unriped ones for me, apple macopa and Chico.

And this remembrance which offered us from 250 bahts to 50 bahts.

Our planned was to spend the night there but after seeing the sights and looked around, we found out that it was still early so we decided to just go back to Bangkok.
By the way, in the market we found out that you can rent a boat for only 150 bahts. We should have to walked few meters more from where the bus stopped.
